If you had one thing as a parent you would want to teach your children in their lifetime, what would it be? For me, I want my children to understand that even though none of us is perfect, God loves us in spite of our imperfections! If they can learn this, they will be well on their way in life. It has taken me over 30 years to learn this!
This book, Audrey Bunny, is such a sweet story that tells about the love God has for us, even though we are far from perfect! Audrey, the stuffed bunny, is so scared that the little girl that purchased her is going to find out about her imperfection and will no longer want her. You can see a beautiful YouTube clip straight from the author here:
Not only does this book have such an important and touching message for our impressionable children, but it also has beautiful illustrations! This book is one that has come off the shelf several times since it has come into our home. In fact, as soon as it came in the mail, Aurora insisted on sitting down and reading through it…she loves this book!
I am so grateful to authors like Angie Smith for taking the time to write books directly to our children in an effort to help them understand some of life’s most difficult issues. The end of this book also has a special bonus that includes questions to lead you in discussing the story with your children, and a fun activity to act as a daily reminder of God’s love.
Do you have some children in your life that would enjoy this book?
