How would you like to make your dates with your spouse more meaningful? Wouldn’t it be great if they were more than just dinner and a movie (even if that is at home when the kids are in bed)? Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley have written a great little book with 52 fantastic ideas for Great Dates. Their Little Book of Great Dates is a book that every couple should have on their bookshelves.

A strong marriage is such an important part of a strong family. Yes, young children can take up a lot of time and energy, but with these quick little date ideas, there is no reason you can’t be with your spouse for an evening at least once a week. You will be happier, your spouse will be happier, and your kids will be happier! I am so glad to have this book to help me with ideas of things to discuss, activities to do, and questions to ask.

Some of these date ideas are specific to certain holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, birthdays, etc.) but others can be used at any time. They suggest at least one date a month, but I really think one night a week is completely doable if you are both home. Put the kids to bed early, light some candles, make a special dinner or snack, and just spend some time together! You won’t regret it:)

How do you make your marriage strong?
